going to their bullpen for a start. I really don't understand this trend, especially if you haven't played this way all year and you're putting players into situations they haven't experienced before (or recently).
Dance with the date that brought you to the dance to begin with, don't start overthinking this stuff now.

Great answer. They were saying the same thing last night about using the pen and having 1 or 2 guys with a bad dayI agree with this. However, playoff pitching is different. You use one of you starters as a reliever and when you are ahead or the game is close you tend to use only 3 pitchers. One of those often being a starter. But you should just take your starter and let him go at few inning and progress from there. The Yankees did it last night. Severino only pitched 4 I believe. In the regular season you can't do that because there is 162 games and nine or more innings. You can't overuse your best pitchers for that long. Playoffs you kind of can. After Severino they moved on and took the situation as it came. The problem with a bulpen day is the more pitchers you use the more chance someone will have a bad outing. If you have a starting pitcher go lon. If he has good stuff you are good for most of the game. Use 4,5,6,7 guys. what are the odds 1,2 or even more have a bad day?
Hearing Brandon Woodruff. Not a horrible choice as he does have 4 starts this year and throws hard. Maybe sneak 4 or 5 out of him
